Which Telegram advertising are you paying for?
Telegram Ads is a platform for sponsored messages. Buying a post directly from a channel owner is a different purchase: you agree publication, timing, placement and reporting with that publisher. A channel-post price cannot automatically be compared with the CPM bid in an advertising account.
The self-serve route described in Telegram’s Getting Started documentation uses Toncoin and channel or bot links. A reseller route may have other payment methods and eligible formats. Ask to see your actual route: where the ad leads, how the balance is funded and which reporting columns are available. A format in someone else’s account does not prove eligibility in yours.

What makes up the full Telegram Ads cost?
Media spend pays for impressions. Management pays for agreed team work: preparation, launch, checks and ongoing decisions. Reseller commission depends on access and funding terms. A bot, website, content, integrations or third-party services may be separate costs; do not assume they are included unless the estimate explicitly says so.
The proposal should identify who receives each payment, its currency, period and commission basis. A percentage of net media spend, a percentage of the entire top-up and a payment already inclusive of commission produce different results. Ask how much actually becomes advertising balance. Clarify taxes, currency conversion and unused-balance terms before confirming payment.
Minimum CPM is not the minimum project budget
CPM means the cost of one thousand impressions. Telegram’s self-serve guide, checked on October 12, 2026, states a minimum CPM of 0.1 Toncoin. That is not a universal minimum deposit, a UPLIFY rate or a promise that your audience can be reached entirely at that bid.
The media-cost calculation is impressions ÷ 1,000 × actual CPM. Cheap impressions do not prove cheap sales. A decision also needs the reachable audience, the action after the ad and the cost of your agreed outcome. Do not convert CPM into a guaranteed CPL: click-through and enquiry quality depend on the offer and customer journey.

UPLIFY terms and an illustrative cost worksheet
For the Ukrainian market, the current UPLIFY offer lists management at $320 per month, media budget from €500 and a 15% reseller commission. These are our offer terms, not Telegram’s universal price list. Agree the work scope, buying route and payment process before launch; the final estimate must explain the commission basis.
The example below is arithmetic only, not a case study or performance forecast. Suppose net media spend is €1,000, commission is 15% specifically of that amount and management is $320. Commission is €150, so €1,150 goes to Telegram and $320 to UPLIFY, before other agreed costs. If commission is already included in the top-up, do not add it again.
| Item | Illustrative calculation |
|---|---|
| Media spend | €1,000 |
| 15% commission on media spend | €150 |
| Monthly management | $320 |
| Total in this scenario | €1,150 + $320 |

Agree a test without promising cheap leads
First name the outcome: a subscriber, bot start, completed enquiry, qualified lead or paid purchase. These are different events. A cheap form submission may be an unsuitable enquiry for a service business; a bot start may never become a store order. Define the outcome before selecting a bid.
Split the test into comparable groups: audience, message and destination. Do not fragment a small budget across dozens of variants that receive too few observations. Agree a spend limit, review date, response owner and stopping criteria. If evidence is insufficient, the honest conclusion is ‘not yet known’, not an invented return on investment.
- Use the same outcome definition across groups.
- Record the reporting period and outcome delay.
- Separate spam, duplicates and unsuitable enquiries.
- Do not scale solely because CPM is low.
Read results using the full cost basis
Keep media spend separate from the full estimate in your own report. Media CPL is media spend divided by agreed leads. Fully loaded CPL also includes management and commission. Comparing those two figures without labeling their basis is misleading. If there are no leads, CPL is not zero: the ratio cannot be calculated.
Account statistics and your business records do not automatically match. The self-serve guide describes impressions, channel joins and bot starts, not a universal paid-sales reconciliation. Check the actual metrics for any other route. Our existing Telegram Playbook covers channel/bot/website journeys and a controlled enquiry test; those checks support the budget, rather than replacing it.

A checklist before funding the account
A useful preparation deliverable is a short agreed terms sheet that can be reconciled with the invoice and report. It does not replace a contract or platform policies. It removes ambiguity about how much will buy impressions, what the client pays for and how the team will determine the outcome.
Ask for destination eligibility to be confirmed and test it in a draft. Moderation approval and the date of first delivery are not guaranteed. Destination content must match the ad and the chosen route’s rules; an old screenshot of another account is not confirmation of your terms.
- Who owns the account and can inspect spend?
- What are the currency, commission basis and net media budget?
- Which management tasks are included or separate?
- What are the balance, top-up and stopping terms?
- Which outcome counts, and where is its quality confirmed?
- When will the test be reviewed, and who decides?

Telegram Ads pricing questions
Why do websites quote different minimum budgets?
They may describe different purchases: a direct channel post, the self-serve TON route or a reseller-managed campaign. Minimum deposits, CPM bids and a team’s project estimate are also different quantities. Before payment, ask for the route, currency, net advertising balance and every separate charge. Another account’s terms do not establish yours, and old prices should be checked against a current proposal.
Does the $320 management fee include media spend?
No. The UPLIFY offer’s $320 monthly amount refers to management; media spend and reseller commission are separate. Work scope and the final estimate are agreed before launch. Ask for itemized costs and the actual amount available for impressions. Do not assume a website, bot, third-party subscriptions or extra integrations are included without explicitly agreeing that work in your estimate.
Can you quote an exact lead cost before launch?
Without observations about your audience, offer and enquiry journey, an exact figure would be an assumption. You can agree a spend scenario, outcome definition and test boundaries, not a guaranteed CPL or return. Account for unsuitable enquiries, duplicates, response delays and quality confirmation in your own records. After testing, compare equivalent periods and disclose when there is not enough evidence to decide.
